How do I know what size I am?

Please check the size guide. Our items unfortunately do not follow standard sizing due to a manufacturing mishap, so we're not joking around when we say you absolutely must check your measurements against the size guide to make sure you get a good fit. We recommend sizing up as our items run small.

Will you be expanding your size range?

Accepted Answer

Yes yes yes! A huge part of our vision for this brand is to make it as inclusive as possible. We know that our current sizing range falls short of our vision and we’re incredibly sorry about that. We're working hard to ensure that our next collection is more size inclusive.

Question 3

Can I collect my order if I don’t want to pay for shipping?

Yes of course! We know that shipping costs can break the bank, so email us at charabespoke@gmail.com to organise free collection in Cape Town. Free collection will be available before 28 June 2022 or after 18 July 2022.

How long will it take for me to get my order?

Accepted Answer

We promise we'll do everything we can to get your order to you ASAP, but please be patient with us. Expect around 2-5 days of processing before your order is shipped. After your order is shipped you should receive it within 2-5 days.

What makes Chara a more sustainable brand?

Accepted Answer

Sustainability is a journey and we’re doing everything we can to be as sustainable, ethical, and environmentally friendly as possible. We source all our fabric from local suppliers, and our items are hand-made by seamstresses in Cape Town. This means that we know the seamstresses making our items are fairly and adequately remunerated for their work. Our supply chain is transparent and ethical so you can enjoy wearing our clothes with a clear conscience.

Wow okay these prices are a bit expenny, what’s with that?

We know that our prices are a bit higher than the average big fashion retailer in South Africa and a significant part of the cost comes from providing our seamstresses with living wages. All our items are reversible, so the additional fabric also adds to the cost of production. When you buy a Chara item, view it as an investment into a quality piece that will become a staple in your wardrobe.
 
Also, the items are reversible so technically speaking you get 2 outfits when you buy 1 item and when you think about it like that, the prices aren't even expensive.

Question 7

I know that I’m supposed to cold hand wash my Chara piece, but does it really matter if I just throw it in the machine?

Accepted Answer

Please, no! We’re being so serious here; you actually have to cold hand wash your items. The fabric is super delicate and you run the risk of ruining your item if you’re not careful with how you wash it. Our clothes are designed to last for as long as possible, but you can only preserve their lifespan if you cold handwash the pieces.

Excellent question, we love the enthusiasm. Our next collection is currently pending but you can expect to hear from us again before the end of this year.
